Mrs. Vernell Doles Jones

Vernell Doles Jones was born on October 22, 1931 to the late Jessie Doles Sr. and the late Amanda Fields Doles in Oslo, FL. Vernell was the eldest of three children As a child Vernell was reared in Oslo and Gifford, FL. She was a longtime member of Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church in Gifford, FL where she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. On August 22, 1949 she married the late Rev. Earnest Jones in Bartow, FL. Later the family returned to Gifford, FL where they reared six children. Vernell was a woman of strenghth and dignity. Speaking words of wisdom and extending kindness to others were some of her good deeds. Her children and husband adored and admired her ability to manage their household with little resources. To them she was the best of all women. Her life was not in vain. Vernell knew that she was favored by the Heavenly Father, therefore she relied on his strength. Vernell, with the help of a few awesome friends, organized a social club for widows and widowers where she served as president and vice-president. Also, she was an active participant in aerobics for seniors with "Beyond Special K" where she was also engaged in crafts, bible study and other activities at the Gifford Youth Activity Center (GYAC), Gifford, FL. On Thursday, December 5, 2013, at the Hospice of Palm Beach in West Palm Beach, FL. Vernell departed the troubles of this earthly life believing that her prepared heavenly home is awaiting her. Vernell, a woman of God, will be missed. Vernell leaves to morn her devoted daughter, Earnestine Patricia Jones Butler of Riviera Beach, FL (Clinton, Jr.); a brother, Jessie Doles Jr. of Durham, NC (Debbie); a special niece , Barbara Jean Doles Dawsey of Vero Beach, FL; grandchildren include Johnie Lavar and Amanda Shawntae Morgan, James Knowles and Tonya Renee Butler of Rivera Beach, FL. Ronald and Johnathan Buckner, Aukeya Dillard, Gifford, FL; Arabia Davon Taylor (Tiffany) of Sebastian, FL; Evelyn Sheri Tomlin of Port Saint Lucie, FL; Dominique Antoinette Slater of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Sarah Latrice Jones of Irmo, SC; Mark Devar Morgan of Las Vegas, NV; great-grandchildren include DeQuan and DeCoya Fleming of Riviera Beach, FL; Jaeden Johnnie Lavar Morgan of Altamonte Springs, FL; great-great grandchildren DeArriyah Fleming of Rivera Beach, FL; Denise Verlecia Holmes, Victoria Ellen Thomlin of Port Saint Lucie, FL; Lanayasia Christine Relford and Chanel LiliAna Jewl Buckner of Gifford, FL; a cousin Johnnie B.
