Mr. Alfred W. King Sr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

On October 31, 1930 in Baxley, GA a bubbling baby boy was born to the late Shade and the late Missouri King. They named him Alfred W. King. As Alfred journeyed this life, in Sycamore, GA he met the Mildred Burgess. They were united in holy matrimony in the year of 1949.She was a very devoted wife. To this union thirteen children were born. In 1957 they moved to FL, where Alfred became an entrepreneur, as an auto mechanic naming his shop A.K. Auto Repair. Alfred was a person that you could call a true legend. He was well known and missed by many/ On April 14, 2014, God had a plan for this special man. He knew it was time for Alfred to rest. We all know that God knows best. Alfred is preceded in death by his wife Mildred, six brothers, Charlie, Nathaniel, Willie, Johnny, Shade and Robert Lee King; three sisters Mary Owens and Laura Mae King and one daughter Lavon King. Alfred leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memories, seven daughters, Betty (Mack) Jones, Delores Roberts, Gwendolyn Henry, Lindell King ,Mary Pennamon, Joyce King and Dorothy King all of Vero Beach; five sons, James (Bernice), King (Jacksonville, FL,) Alfred Jr., Bennie, David King and Lonnie (Thelma) Murray (Georgia); one sister, Hattie Mae Scott; three sisters-in law, Lillie and Hattie Burgess and Barbara Jean King; one brother-in-law, Willie Lee Burgess; thirty-four grandchildren, eighty great-grandchildren, eight great great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. “Close the Book But Remember The Story”
