Mr. Simmie Lamar Hudson

Life Reflections for Simmie Lamar Hudson Our Beloved Simmie Lamar Hudson was born December 27, 1957, in Vero Beach, FL to the parents Susie Ann Hudson and Simel Davis. He was educated in the public school system of Indian River County, Vero Beach, FL, and was a member of the Vero Beach High School class of 1975. Simmie transitioned peacefully from this life at 10:22 p.m. on May 28, 2024, with his loving family around him. He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Simel Davis; his mother, Susie (Hudson) Relford; his brother, Shawn Relford; his grandparents, Eula and James Hudson; his uncle, James A Hudson Jr.; his step-father, Clifford Relford; and his grandson, Jye Morgan. He began his Christian journey at St. Peters Missionary Baptist Church Vero Beach, FL at an early age. During his bout with cancer, he rededicated his life to Christ and joined St. Elizabeth Church of Deliverance, Vero Beach, FL, under the leadership of Bishop Orville Peterson and First Lady Elect Constance Peterson. He was a faithful member until his health declined. Simmie was a dapper dresser. He had a love of wearing ties with every outfit regardless if the shirt had a collar or not and yes he could pull a style off! Most of all Simmie loved people and he was definitely a friend, brother, daddy, uncle, but most of all he was a Child of God. A man that loved the Lord with all his heart and it showed through his love for God's people. Simmie was always helping, assisting, and loving people through his many acts of kindness throughout the community. He was that community leader who always lent a helping hand to help his community. Later in life Simmie was instrumental in getting the Josie Schuman historical park cleaned up in the low-in of Gifford and was the driving force that implemented the Annual Coon-Bottom Fest held in August each year. Simmie was that type of loving person who lived a full life of joy and enjoyed fishing. He leaves to cherish his precious memories: A loving and devoted wife Sharon (Winn) Hudson of Vero Beach, FL; five sons, Simmie Hudson, Jamie Hudson, Jeremy Hudson, Keon Hudson, Simmie Lamar Hudson Jr., and Wesley Alcorn all of Vero Beach, FL; six daughters, SeNoma (Morgan) Brown of Sanford, FL, Sasha Alcorn, Keona Hudson, Shan’Taysia White, and Simmora Hudson all of Vero Beach, FL; Kendalin Joseph of Stuart, FL. Simmie had 18 grandchildren; four brothers, Ronald “Sandpaper” (Carlos) Jackson of Miami, FL, Michael (June) Relford of Charlotte, NC; Vachon Davis of Vero Beach, FL; Clifford Angelo Relford Jr., of Vero Beach, FL; three sisters, Sanoma Hudson of Vero Beach, FL, Alexia Davis of Chicago, IL; Padrica (Theodore) Schofield of Vero Beach, FL; a devoted and cherished Aunt, Priscilla ”Sil” Hudson, who was his most prized confidant; a very special and loving cousin Keeyeta Hudson, but to her he was her Uncle Simmie, mother-in-law, Betty Footman; three God-Sisters, Constance Peterson, Dena and Felicia Williams all of Vero Beach, FL. Simmie had many devoted friends who were more like brothers to him. As the years progressed they formed “The Lunch Bunch.” A group of good friends that would gather to have lunch during the week. He will be also lovingly remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, compassionate cousins, sorrowing relatives, and many many special friends
