Mr. Alphonso Brown

On Monday 21st, January 1935, Mathilda and Cephas Brown of Old Bight in historical Cat Island. The Bahamas welcomed their last child into the world. They named him Alphonso Herbert Brown. Alphonso grew up under the watchful eyes of his parents who instilled Godly principles and morals in him. Unfortunately, his father died when he was but a teen, so his mother continued to love and care for him. Alphonso attended the Old Bight all age school. After leaving school he migrated to the United States of America but never gave up on his foundation, “DOWN HOME”. Every opportunity he got he would return to his homeland. Alphonso is the last of his immediate generation, Mathilda and Cephas Brown (Parents) deceased, Bernard, Coleman, Cephas Brown, Chillion Brown, Alonzo Brown (Brother), all brothers deceased. Charlotte Brown Daniels, Hilda Brown Smith, and Mabel Brown Dorsett, all sisters deceased. All aunts and uncles are deceased. Alphonso married Pamela Andrea Humes in the year of 1990. To this union was created an extension to an already large blended family. 3 daughters and a son were adopted. Deacon Brown was an excellent father, his home and guidance motivated his family on a path of righteousness and success. July 12, 2023, he gained his heavenly wings, Deacon Brown loved the Lord and his dedication and faithfulness of 65 years to Davis Temple COGIC knew no bounds. At the time of his transition, he was Senior Deacon, Trustee Member, and Sunday School Superintendent. He will truly be missed.
